WHAT IS THE RIGHT TO LIFE SUMMIT?

RIGHT TO LIFE SUMMIT is a youth event focusing on Human Right #6 and targeted at reducing the homicide rate in Kansas City & St. Louis. Youth who come will learn, debate, and help inspire human rights advocacy for each other. Together, we're building a CHOICE that's free of hate or violence and full of opportunity.

Our hybrid event will include a half-day virtual youth camp AND a full-fledged tour bus from Kansas City to St. Louis for local youth.

The tour bus will give youth the skills and knowledge to de-escalate violence, whether at home, in their community and among their peers, by educating them on the root cause of violence. Learn how history has shaped the crime rates of today, and what you and your family can do to prevent violence.

The virtual event will bring innovative educators, nonprofits, and thought-leaders together from Ghana, Sierra Leone, Kansas and Missouri for a half-day virtual youth camp including education, friendly debates, games & contests, to promote effective human rights advocacy, and giving youth the tools to lead.

AGENDA

RIGHT TO LIFE SUMMIT will be an immersive and invaluable experience taking place on an action-packed 3-day weekend. 

The Summit will be made up of engaging keynote presentations that give youth an opportunity to speak up and speak out, debate topics where youth will be encouraged to engage in friendly debate with their peers, and fun-filled contests with special prizes* for attendees to win! The Kansas City to St. Louis tour is designed to take youth on a step-by-step journey through history — from the segregation of Kansas City (and how that led to our current community issues) to the bloody history of violence throughout Missouri and what youth can do to de-escalate situations they find themselves in.
